Combine Fire a Total Loss |
MOUNT MORRIS – A farmer’s combine caught fire while harvesting a field on Barron Road Friday afternoon.
First responders said that the only casualty was the combine, which was a total loss.
First responders said that a large burned arc surrounding the combine suggests that the machine caught fire while it was still operating.
The fire started at about 2:30 p.m. The smoke was visible for many miles in each direction.
By 3:10, firefighters had the fire under control.
The Mount Morris Fire Department responded to the scene alongside the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and ambulances with Livingston County and Mount Morris.
